At UFA, you’ll accompany members of our sales force or section heads on customer visits. You’ll gain an understanding of farmers’ specific requirements, be given a grounding in UFA products and learn how to interact with customers successfully. On the marketing side, you’ll explore the strategic topics within the industry.

1 week

Crop production is an important part of the Agro business. The fenaco companies UFA Samen, LANDOR and AGROLINE all fall under this umbrella. During this stage of the management trainee programme, you’ll discover what makes these companies special – from seed treatment to different types of fertiliser right through to sustainable crop protection products.

From A as in apricot to Z as in zucchini: everything at Inoverde revolves around fruit and vegetables. During your time at this company you’ll be involved in the procurement, management, logistics and sales processes, including providing support and advice to customers.

10 weeks

LANDI stores

Shopping in LANDI stores is a pleasantly different experience. LANDI stores are mainly to be found in the rural areas of German- and French-speaking Switzerland. They stock home and garden products, agricultural lines and groceries (where the focus is on beverages). You’ll take part in the day-to-day activities of a LANDI store, master the art of selling and familiarise yourself with various rules for displaying goods. You’ll also gain management experience by leading the team at a LANDI store.

A visit to the LANDI procurement fair – where the LANDI stores buy in their product ranges – will be the highlight of this placement.

1 week

Volg

Volg specialises in village shops and small convenience stores in both the German- and French-speaking parts of Switzerland. It is known for its closeness to customers – both in its personal interactions and by giving them the opportunity to shop locally. You’ll spend one week shadowing a regional sales manager as they analyse how the Volg stores are being managed and help them to maximise their impact as a “fresh and friendly” place to shop.
